Our Story
Three generations,
one starter.
In 1987, Margaret Bellamy bought a bag of flour, a cast-iron Dutch oven, and started a sourdough culture in her Toronto apartment. What began as a Sunday ritual became a neighbourhood institution.
Today, her grandchildren bake alongside the same living starter — now 38 years old. We haven't changed the recipe because we don't need to. We've just gotten better at it.
Founded by Margaret & Thomas Bellamy in a rented kitchen on Queen St W.
Opened our flagship location. The original starter culture is still alive.
Third generation joins — new pastry program, same values.
